Marks & Spencer has introduced a new twelve-bottle wine range called Found, designed to encourage shoppers to explore lesser-known grape varieties and regions. With prices ranging from £7 to £10, the collection aims to make wine discovery more accessible and exciting. From obscure grapes to untraditional styles, the Found range includes wines from across the globe—many of which are appearing in the UK for the first time.

M&S winemaker Sue Daniels described creating the range as “a delight,” adding that the goal was to help customers feel confident about trying something new. “We’ve been able to dig deep and unearth some real wine rarities, and we’re really excited to share these with customers,” she said. The hope is that shoppers will develop a taste for these hidden gems and feel inspired to expand their wine preferences beyond the usual suspects.

Showcasing white wines from lesser-known origins

Five white wines feature in the new collection, each highlighting an unusual grape or blend. Among them is a rich and aromatic blend of Roditis and Moschofilero crafted by Leonidis Nassiakos at Greece’s acclaimed Semeli Winery. Priced at £8.50, the wine offers a window into the Southern Peloponnesian Peninsula’s aromatic varietals. Also on offer is a crisp Feteascã Regalã from Romania’s Cramele Recaș for £7, and a lively Gros Manseng 2020 from Nicolas Duffour in Gascogne, France, bursting with white peach and exotic fruit (£9).

South Africa’s Perdeberg Cellar contributes a Grenache Blanc 2020 from Paarl, priced at £8, while Italy’s Domus Vini rounds out the white lineup with a £7 bottle of Ribolla Gialla 2020, a wine Daniels calls “an ancient gem.” Each of these wines demonstrates M&S’s commitment to offering consumers something both unfamiliar and exceptional.

Bubbles, rosé and bold reds

In the sparkling category, M&S has included a Blanquette de Limoux NV, a traditional French fizz made with 90% Mauzac, known for its crisp character and aromas of fresh grass and biscuits (£10). The rosé selection is equally intriguing, with a vinho verde rosé made from Touriga Nacional and Espadeiro—an unconventional pairing for the Portuguese style.

The red wines are where some of the most unique inclusions appear. Leading the pack is a Nerello Cappuccio, a grape typically blended with others in Sicilian reds, now showcased on its own in what is believed to be its UK debut (£7). A bold Mazuelo 2019 (Cariñena) from Spain’s Yerga Mountain in Rioja offers an earthy depth at £8.50, while Chile’s País, priced at £9, offers insight into one of South America's oldest grape varieties.

Argentina is represented by a Cabernet Franc from celebrated winemaker Alejandro Vigil, and Greece makes another appearance with a fragrant, unoaked Xinomavro & Mandilaria 2019 blend from Apostolos Thymiopoulos, priced at £9.50. These selections highlight how rich and diverse the world of red wine can be when consumers step off the beaten path.

Sustainability and vegan commitment

Beyond exploring unique flavours, the M&S Found wine range also reflects the retailer’s environmental values. Many of the wineries involved follow sustainable practices, such as carbon offsetting, organic farming, water conservation, and biodynamic agriculture. The entire collection is certified vegan, supporting M&S’s pledge to transition its wine range to 100% vegan-friendly products by 2022.

Daniels noted that the range isn’t just about taste—it’s also an invitation to explore the world through wine. “It’s a call to venture further afield with wine choices, and to indulge in some much-needed armchair escapism,” she said.

With the Found range now available in stores across the UK, M&S is opening the door for customers to enjoy a curated tour of the wine world—without leaving home.
