Prestige-Ledroit Distributing Company has made a strategic move to grow its presence in the Mid-Atlantic region by acquiring The Craft Coalition, a respected beer distributor operating in Maryland and Washington DC. The deal was finalized on 1 July, and deliveries from the newly combined entity began almost immediately, hitting the road by 2 July.

The acquisition brings together two companies with strong reputations in the craft beer space, each known for serving a knowledgeable and quality-focused clientele. The integration is expected to streamline logistics, broaden product access, and improve service across Maryland, Delaware, and Washington DC.

The Craft Coalition joins a larger network

Founded in 2019, The Craft Coalition quickly established itself as a connector between top-tier breweries and beer enthusiasts throughout its service region. Its portfolio includes a curated selection of standout craft beers from both local and national producers. With this acquisition, Prestige-Ledroit aims to deliver that portfolio to an even wider audience throughout the Mid-Atlantic corridor.

“We are a company born of our community, just like The Craft Coalition,” said Alex Thompson, partner and chief operating officer at Prestige-Ledroit. “Bringing our companies together will allow us to offer a more comprehensive experience for our customers.”

Shared values drive the merger

Both Prestige-Ledroit and The Craft Coalition share a dedication to offering products that reflect the evolving tastes of an educated and discerning customer base. From bar owners and restaurateurs to independent retailers and consumers, this merger is designed to enhance their access to quality beer without compromising service or expertise.

According to Jason Gotcher, founder of The Craft Coalition, the acquisition marks a new chapter for innovation and growth. “Together, we will continue to push the boundaries of innovation, expand our offerings, and deliver unparalleled value to our customers,” he said.

The companies aim to maintain their reputation for meticulous curation and deep product knowledge, which have become hallmarks of their customer relationships.

Commitment to service and quality

Despite the scale of the merger, both parties are committed to maintaining the personalized service that has earned them loyalty in the industry. Thompson emphasized that customers can expect business as usual—only better. “The same level of service, the same attention to detail—that’s our promise,” he said. “The highest standards are set by ourselves, and we intend to meet them from the first day of the integration.”

The move is expected to strengthen Prestige-Ledroit’s position in the region’s competitive craft beer distribution market. By absorbing The Craft Coalition’s well-regarded portfolio and integrating its expertise, Prestige-Ledroit is setting the stage for a more efficient, expansive, and customer-focused future.

As demand for craft beer continues to evolve, this acquisition signals the growing importance of agility, community roots, and quality-driven service in the beverage distribution sector.
